Title: Check to see if Microsoft Forms response exists before adding to SharePoint
Description: This Flow will perform a check to see if a Microsoft Forms response already exists in your SharePoint list before it adds it. If it does exist, it will send an email letting the user know an entry already exists.
Detailed Instructions: You'll need to point this to your Microsoft Forms form. You will update the Filter Query in the Get Items Action to filter it according to your data. The sample is checking an email address but you can change this to whatever you want to match on.
Questions: I am open to answering questions about this Flow. Please ask right here as a reply.
Anything else we should know: I use this solution to make sure people do not submit duplicate entries for contests or events but it has many use cases.
Hey @aprildunnam,
unfortunately I cannot import your zip - could you please send a screenshot of the get items action expanded? Thank you 🙂
Hi April,
I have made my form into two parts. One that is filled out at the start of the day and the other at the end of the day. At the moment I have a Power Automate that puts all the data into Dataverse. What I want to do is to have the first part of the form submitted and then when the second part is submitted I want to update Dataverse rather than create a new row.
I cannot seem to find a way to check if the form "body / Submit Date" can be compared to today as well as the name of the submitter so that it can be checked in Dataverse. I am a newbie and don't know if I am going about it the right way. I have read what you have put on "Check to see if Microsoft Forms response exists before adding to SharePoint" but I cannot see the 'Get Items' or 'Conditions' from what you have shown.
Please can you help me.
Thanks.
Phil
any update on this? I also had trouble importing the flow
this is exactly what I'm after, I'm also having trouble importing the flow. Are you able to share a detailed video or screenshot? Is this approach also applicable to searching for a value in an Excel table (specifically values in one column)?
