Can Service account be used Power Automate Desktop?

Hi experts,

I have a client's query as follows:

  • They want to Power Desktop Desktop with a $40 per-use-per-month plan and an attended license. This user is User A
  • The organization has a simple flow and assigned User A the per-user plan.
  • User A wishes to delegate a PAYG plan for troubleshooting to another user (User B).

    Q: So the organization will pay 1 $40 per-use-per-month + 1 PAYG plan with $0.60 with 10 flow runs = $46 per month
    Is this calculation correct?

  • They need to schedule a process and that schedule works at 4 am GMT every day. They will be leverage services account in an Azure VM.
Q: is it possible to use service account for Power Automate desktop?

Please advice.

That depends on how they are scheduling the process.  But if they are scheduling it to run on an Azure VM at 4 am then it sounds like that is an unattended scenario, not an attended one. There are ways to run the Power Automate Desktop as a different user by using the RunAs settings, but that is normally to do security elevation.  As I said it sounds like what they actually want is an unattended run.
