Custom object property disappears in Set Variable action whenever action is opened.

I created a Set Variable action changing a property of a custom object, by using the syntax %objectName['property']%.

However, whenever I open the Set Variable action, the variable I am setting resets to just %objectName% and I have to retype in

"['property'".

Is this a bug, or is there a workaround for this?
