I know its confusing but while yes, you are connecting to the gateway and everything's fine there, you are not connecting to a service that comes installed with power automat desktop called "UiFlowsService" you can probably check in task manager to see that its not in there and that's causing that specific issue that you're having.

Pavel_NaNoi_0-1624873554724.png

the reason for this is the following that you can find on the Microsoft website -

Pavel_NaNoi_1-1624873946227.png

(if you cant read it, here's the link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-automate/desktop-flows/setup)

However! This might be out-dated, so just in case, please re-install Power automate desktop to its latest version if you haven't already (its quick and you don't lose any flows, don't worry) and use this following option instead of the gateway -

I hope this helps, maybe somebody else has some better hints but that's the most I can do 😓

hello @SanjeevSoni

can you please check the following:

1. in the Power Automate web portal, go to Data > Gateway and see if your gateway is listed there

2. on the gateway list page: hit the ... menu for the gateway you want to use > click Details > read in which region your gateway is currently deployed

3. check that your environment in Power Platform is deployed in the same region as your gateway: click on the wheel in the top right corner of your screen near the picture > click on Admin Center > click on Environments > click on the environment name in the list view > read details of what region it's in

If they don't match, then this is the reason. To fix things, uninstall your gateway and reinstall it in the right region.

Hope this helps! let us know if it doesn't so we can assist further. If it does, feel free to mark this answer as the solution!

Happy Automation,

Amina

Hey just a quick question, can you check whether or not you have windows 10 pro or not? if you have the home version you can't link power automate and PAD (which is pretty silly imo but thats how it is)

Dear @Pavel_NaNoi  and @aminab-msft

Thanks, fo your reply, I am running Windows 10 Home edition,

I had run the gateway on my machine for Power Apps,  and it worked well.

But now I trying to connect my power automate,  But I am not able to connect.

Please assist me to setup

If you go to Data - Connections - New Connection - Search for Desktop flows in power automate and try to create a connection to your gateway like that it will very likely tell you that you need at least windows 10 pro / server 2016 /server 2019 to connect.

However, I'm not 100% about the power apps thing so just in case I'm wrong and its just Microsoft forgetting to clean up old text, re-install power automate desktop and make sure its the latest version, if it is, in its settings (cog wheel button) it should have an "Machine (Preview)" option, which is an option that allows you to connect to your machine without a gateway and if that's blanked out (even after a reinstall) then I'm fairly certain its a windows thing. What's actually being an issue in this case is that there is no UiFlowService service being ran so there's nothing to connect with.

Dear @Pavel_NaNoi I have checked at Gateway, below the snapshot,  There are green ticks,

we wanted to run the desktop flow from the cloud flow

Below is the message

Below is the connection details.

hello @SanjeevSoni

if you have Windows 10 Home, you can do automations on your machine, and triggered by a click of the play button on the Power Automate Desktop console. You can trigger desktop flows from the cloud using the Power Automate Per User with RPA trial.

As for reading which region is the gateway in, it's my bad. You can view it in the gateway app, like in the screenshot above: Check if the gateway is in the right region (microsoft.com)

I hope this helps. Please do give the trial a try (haha). Pricing | Microsoft Power Automate. Let me know if you have a hard time getting the trial.

How do I know that I have a premium connector or not for running Desktop Flow

Apologies for the late reply, the password provided for the connector should be the password for your Microsoft account associated with the computer (so the one you use for your email that came with windows)

Edit - and the domain/username comes from going into command prompt and writing whoami into it, putting this in here just incase.

Dear @Pavel_NaNoi  and @aminab-msft

Thanks, guys,  You are brilliant,  I struggled along and I didn't know how to provide the domain name and user name. It is working well now.

Getting Message Now: "Your flow was saved, but could not be enabled to run because of billing restrictions. "

I still don't have to clarify,

1) How Gateway is connected with the Connectors inside the Power Automate

2) We still need to get the Premium connector to desktop flow to run on the cloud if we have already set up gateways in Windows 10 Pro

3) If we get try licenses of below,  Can we able to try all the premium connectors?

SanjeevSoni_0-1625365752320.png

Yep it should, here's what one of their official manuals say :

Pavel_NaNoi_0-1625410731753.png

the guide can be found here :

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/powerapps-flow-licensing-faq

just CTRL+F for "Licencing guide:"

Also be careful, it might be just saying "Your flow was saved, but could not be enabled to run because of billing restrictions" because the premium connector is set to "Unattended" which the plan you're planning on buying will cover (for an additional 150$ per bot), but you might already have access to attended, so just switch back to that in-case you have put it on unattended.

Also the gateway is connected to the computer by means of the gateway you've installed on that exact computer.

Even after re-installation of power automate desktop, i didn't get the "UI flow service" and the machine preview option on power automate desktop. How can I get this available on my PAD?

Apologies for the really late reply, I missed this in my email somehow.

If you haven't already figured it out, usually the lack of UI flow service is a sign of not having windows 10 pro, however if you do have it and you're having those issues, make sure you're installing PAD from here:

https://flow.microsoft.com/en-us/desktop/

If you're already downloading from there and its not working, you may need to do a complete re-install of power automate desktop, including deleting its files that stick around even after you un-install it to do a fresh installation. I don't remember where exactly those files are, but there should be a forum post somewhere that explains where you can find them and delete them, if ya can't find it just hollar I'll help you out in finding it.
