When I extract a table in a desktop window I get the data as a string variable. How do I get it to be a table? If I get it into excel it paste it all in one cell.
Do somebody have an example how to?
@jemoe -
Step 1: You will have to right click on one of the table cells and then select "Extract entire HTML table"(screenshot attached)
In the Live web helper, you should be able to see the data in tabular format.
Step 2: Store Data mode > You could either choose Variable or Excel Spreadsheet
For Excel Spreadsheet, output would be of this format
For Variable, output would be of table format.
Hi @RIYAMROY
The original post is referring to a desktop table versus an Html table.
I am able to recreate the mentioned issue. When the desktop table on the left is extracted using "Extract data from Window", then it pastes into excel into one single cell A1 as shown in the right. And does not give table like structure.
Select the output as Spreadsheet in the "Extract data from window" action.
If it doesn't work then one option would be to dynamically navigate cell by cell within the table.
@jemoe, have you come up with a workaround?
@RIYAMROY any ideas on alternate solution please share.
Hi @RIYAMROY
Its a training application for the Blue Prism RPA tool called as Centrix Data Solutions therefore won't be able to share unless it is taken from their training material.
Here is the difference..
The Ui element in Contossa application is a Datagrid
Whereas the Ui element in Centrix Data Solutions is a Table
Therefore they are giving different results.
I do not need an answer since I do not have this requirement 😊.
This analysis was only for the sake of the original poster.
But I do need information regarding the screenshots you have posted.
- May I know why is everything showing up twice in the Excel screenshot. Two email, amount, account name etc within the same Excel cell?
- Secondly, any idea why is there an incorrect mapping between the column headers and their values in the DataTable you have posted.
For example,
The Email is showing up in the Amount column and the Date is displayed in the Account name column. Likewise for all others.
Do you see these as bugs and something to report?
