Is there a current bug in PAD for the Send Email action?

Hello Everyone.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but in my web automation PAD flow I use the Send Email action to send an email to myself when the flow completes successfully.

Recently though, the text of the email is incorrectly formatted, and is somewhat right aligned when I view the email in Outlook.

If I then go in to PAD it has the same right aligned text for the Send Email action Body section.

So, I fix it in PAD by updating the Body section of the Send Email action so that it is all correctly justified and run the flow again and it repeats.

The resulting email sent still has somewhat right aligned text and the process repeats.

PAD never used to do this, any ideas for how to fix it?

If you want to test this, create a basic flow and use the Send Email action and put some text in the Body section and see how it is output once the email is sent (e.g. incorrectly justified) and then view the Send Email action in PAD again and it will be the same.

Regards.

Hi Ianwuk,

I mean first use set variable with the text that you want to use in the mail body. Then use the variable in the body of Send Email’ action.

I noticed this strange text formatting behavior on display messages and it may also happen in other situations too.

Have you tested if this also happens when you use a variable with your text instead hard coded text in the Send Email action?

Thank you for replying @Gidi , I'm not sure I understand your question. But I changed nothing and this started to happen for the Send Email action.  I have since updated the Send Email action body text and it uses variables and still displays strangely,

Example from Outlook.

Any help is much appreciated - thanks!

Can you provide a screenshot from setting the variable?

Please also test with append to text variable for the separate text / picture section.

Are you using html in the email action?

@Gidi -pls find the screenshot of flow.
how to send append variable?

Please try setting a variable with the text of your mail body and use this variable in the mail body section.

@Gidi The issue is with image. the text is in variable only.

you can include this also in the %content% variable.

You can use ‘Append line to text’ action to add additional lines in the text variable too.

Alternatively you can try adding <br> in the mail body for new lines, because it’s Html.

The thing is that if your %Content% variable not formatted as HTML, but you enable HTML for the email body, it will not have line breaks.

You need to format your body as HTML to have the image embedded. But with that, you must also format the rest of the text as HTML, too.

The least you could do is add a <br> tag after your %Content% variable to add a line break before the image. If you need nicer formatting, you would need to add some more tags, such as encapsulating your content in a paragraph by doing <p>%Content%</p>.

How we can write expression in PAD to get the current month, current year, current week, previous month, week, yeari(In ISO format)

Thank you!

You can use the Get current date and time action in PAD to get the current date. It will by default be stored in a %CurrentDateTime% variable. You can the access the current month as %CurrentDateTime.Month% and the current year as %CurrentDateTime.Year%.

To get any kind of previous date, you would need to use the Add to date time action to add some kind of a value. You can add -1 month to get the previous month.

Week numbers are not available in PAD natively, but you can use a Python script in a Run Python script action to get that.

You can use the following script to get a week number based on a date:

import datetime

w1 = str(datetime.date(%CurrentDateTime%).isocalendar()[1])

print(w1)
