SAP GUI and Power Automate Desktop

Hi guys,

I am new to Power Automate Desktop and evaluating its use in SAP. The problem is that I am trying to fill out a table in SAP with the data that is present in an Excel sheet. Whenever I try to select a cell in which I want to add text into the cell is not being identified by Add UI Element. I am attaching a screenshot below for reference.

I would really appreciate your help in this. Thanks!

Administrator needs to allow the gui scripting - there is one or two transaction that they need to enable

Also, in SAP you have native recorder that you can use for SAP automation, it then produces you VB script you can use in PAD to execute and blend with PAD flow

I have noticed using another RPA tool that this section does not get identified during spying.

So I am assuming the same with PAD. Had to use combination of SendKeys like Tab and arrow keys.

Also see if there is a direct import option on this SAP screen.

Thank you for getting back to me @VJR unfortunately there was no such option to use. Any other recommendations?

You can use SAP recorder to generate a script and use that using PAD. I guess that we used to do in other tools.

Hi @zaidalvi

I also suggested another option above - I had to use combination of SendKeys like Tab and arrow keys.

Also check out @AmlanSahoo's suggestion as another way to do it.

Hi @zaidalvi ,

Try to use Ui again and change the position values in custom selector part, it might helps you to achieve the tasks, or else you can use send keys action like tab arrow keys which mentioned by @VJR is also a best way to do it.

Thanks,

Adhil

@VJR

This is what helped me enable some of the functionality in UI element picker.

Yes, enabling the scripting is a pre-requisite for interacting with the SAP application.

Didn't knew that you hadn't got it enabled. 🙂

The official documentation explains all approaches including vbscript to interact with the SAP GUI

Refer all sections on the left hand side.

Hi @VJR

What I meant was that I had my GUI scripting enabled. GUI Scripting was enabled however the aforementioned pane could not be accessed. For anyone who is still stuck on a similar issue I would recommend an lsmw recording in SAP.
