Does anybody have any idea why the UI Selector visual editor editor is not available?
Web automation, Chrome -private, window is identified properly. Used the web recorder.
Is this a feature of MS? Do we have to pay for this as well? XD
I made no change to it IMHO. My guess is that recorded ones for web cannot be modified, as others that I created manually are editable.
Seems like we have another item on the list of flaws.
Yeah, that was my other guess. I am not used to using the recorders, and I would advise you top stop using them as well. Follow my guidelines instead:
I am also not an amid user of those, but I just wanted to quickly test the capabilities of PAD whether there were any changes made. Apart from the current situation I follow the same rules you mentioned.
On point 2: How can you adjust a selector to find "Click me" within a page?
Let's assume that the html code looks like <div><a class="whoelsebutme">Click me</a></div>. Is it possible to aim for the readable text instead of the default class names/div numbers?
The auto-generated one would look like div:eq(1) > a, I would like to make it like div > a[InnerText/Value/Text/Whateverthatworks="Click me"].
On point 5: After setting the UI selectors is there a possibility to test it by only highlighting the element that it is required to interact with? Like in Blue Prism for example?
Thank you for the help in advance,
Text identification is not built into the visual editor for some reason, so you have to change to custom and write something like a:contains("Click me") (case sensitive)
Hover mouse over web element highlights, if I recall correctly.
