Cannot use EXCEL file ID on action Insert Row

Insert row can not be used with file ID. Get rows and other actions work fine.

Also, when EXCEL file is replaced,ID changes and flow don't recognise it anymore. The idea would

be to make ID dynamic , not static.

Thank you for the suggestion. What you are asking for is the ability to use an action with dynamic input but without selecting a particular file when you're designing the flow. We will evaluate this feature.

I think it's very useful if I can select dynamic file path in Excel connector. Currently, the Excel connector is very useless for using with flow.

Must Have feature! Please consider this asap!

yes +1 from me as well would be great to be able to do this to a dynamically referenced file

+1 from me, it would be great if you could prioritise what I would descrbie more as a bug than a missing feature. Dynamic Content should inherently be supported by all fields in all actions, which I assume is the intention as well.

Agreed, this connector has a lot of potential but without allowing dynamic input, I am finding it useless.  Its a real bummer.

My scenario is:

  • Populate each month an excel file / table with data from my sql (ERP) software. Eg., All company payments form previous month to be shared with accountant.

The problems i've faced:

  • Flow doesn't have the feature to create an excel file. Workaround, create an blank excel file and store it inside sharepoint
  • Create a copy of blank excel for next flow execution.
    • Tried to create with different name, leaving the original untouched, but following actions "create table on excel" doesn't acept dynamic data on file and path.
  • Need to create a table inside that excel. Done with flow action. Only on original file.
  • Final touch
    • Rename populated file and move it to destination folder.
    • Rename created file to template original name.

Question is if in next flow run it will acepts the rename excel file.-

I think not.

Could you please take this up on priority ? This is indeed a bug and not an extra functionality.

This is sorely needed. +1 Vote
