Copy action - time saver

It would be nice if I could copy an action into another. It'll make it easier and faster to complete the flow.

For example:

Depending on the day of the week, I need to update the [todayschedule] on SharePoint list.  Using the Switch/Case actions, on Monday case, add an [Update Item] action. Then copy this action for Tuesday - Friday cases and just change the [todayschedule] column without needing to select the list path, list name, ID, and other required contents each time.

Status: Completed

This day has finally arrived when Flow supports copy paste.

Although it seems like a simple feature to build, there is a lot of complexity involved in supporting this feature. Especially when you think about handling references and action names across flows.

I appreciate all the feedback on this post, and know that you've played a very important role in shaping the future of Microsoft Flow.

Is this update rolled out ?

Please ensure you can copy workflow sections between workflows.  Sometimes we have 3 workflows with a similar email process and just need to copy that section between them and change a few settings.

How is this not a planned yet?

This would be super helpful with conditions, where you want to repeat many things.

It would be very helpful to have a date stamp on these status changes.  This says "PLANNED" on the first page of this idea, but no date.  It would be nice to know if its been months or days since added to the plan.

This feature is very necessary!

Why hasn't this been added yet?

I have had some success in opening two different Flows in two different browsers, and dragging an action from one to another (chrome).  It seems that this works sometimes, and sometimes not.  Is this an intended function?  It partially satisfies the "copy" need... but I think there has to be some similarities, and I'm not sur ehow it handles duplicate naming in this circumstance.  But, it has worked when i have a need to copy some of my actions when I'm in a condition, where both Yes and No have some of the same actions.  Saves some time that way.

What I explained above is not true.  Even if i do a "save as" on a flow, dragging an action between screens between your current flow, and the saved flow does NOT copy an action.  Apparently, it still sees the internal indetification of the action, and only MOVES the action.  It is NOT a copy.  I found this out the hard way, as many of my actions had to be re-created.

This is so important. It is so often the case that you need a same action to one you already created before.
