I would like to see a capability similar to the blog post below. It uses SharePoint Designer 2010 workflow to create a document based on a content type that uses a predefined document template and metadata. So you have a list in SharePoint or this could be data from another source. e.g. a Microsoft form or excel file etc. Which is used to populate the metadata. Then have SharePoint create a document based on that data. At the moment I see no way of creating an item in a document library of a specific content type. Not sure if you can do it with the REST api. https://sharepointlibrarian.com/2016/09/30/sp-workflow-to-create-a-document/

On a similar line of thinking, a more streamlined mechanism to scrape the content of a Word document, and to append another document with that text is something I've had requested from functional users on a few occassions.

This feels like something that MS would have on a list of low-hanging fruit.

You forgot to mention that the word online connector is premium and has an extra cost attached.

Will the connector be updated to allow for Rich Text SharePoint Columns to be able to populate a Rich Text Microsoft Word Control? Right now it tries to import html in a plain text, however our business case would really benefit from having a direct rich text to rich text look (ie bullut points, bolds, underlines ect passed over). Right now this connector will not display a Word Column if it was made in Rich Text Format.

Thank you!

Exactly - it is only for premium accounts, while I am getting a beautiful document from a free form publisher file in Google Docs. It's disappointing that even as a high school technology coordinator, we do not have access to this premium feature - I would suggest making this feature included in basic package, at least for educational organizations.

Looks like MS wantes one of their connectors to be premium and they chose this one. a shame, as I'd really like to use it but my company does not allow me to upgrade and I don't see why this is one is more "premium" than others.
