Documentation and examples of "Executing SQL queries" directly in a flow

It would be great to have examples of how to configure the flow to execute SQL queries with custom parameters.

Hi @uvera, Are you talking of "regular" SQL queries or specific executing stored procedures with parameters, or something else?

Hi, I mean regular SQL queries, like:

select column1, column2, column3 from table where id = [FlowButtonParameter];

I write the query in the "query" textarea, and I also insert the "FlowButtonParameter" variable in this place, but I cannot access the fields I write in the query in the other actions.

I don't understand what I have to write in the "formalParameters" input.

Thanks in advance.

Today I had the same problem. Tried to do it via compose input. But it didn't work. Any good explanation would be very helpful

Super User

Hi @uvera

Below are two videos dealing with advanced queries to SQL from PowerApps (using Flow).
For SQL Azure you can use direct (native) queries:

For on-premesis SQL servers, native queries are not supported from Flow (you will get an error: operation Execute Native Sql is currently not supported using an on-prem gateway connection), so we have to use stored procedures to accomplish the same:

Please let me know if you don't come right.
