Email content improvement for "Start an approval" action

When using Forms as trigger for an approval; approval email notification always include flow creator profile pic and name on top. Doesn't matter who does an entry in form; email notification at top automatically includes flow creator profile pic and name.

Email notification: In this case another user entered a record in form; but email notification is showing my profile as I was flow creator. Approvers in my case would get confused because it may indicate I created an entry in Form.

Similar to this idea: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Flow-Ideas/Add-the-From-field-on-the-action-Send-Approval-email/... - you can customize the from for an Approval, meaning it'll be the person submitting the form instead. Read more here: https://flow.microsoft.com/blog/button-types-more/

How is this still not fixed a year later?

yeah, this is an obvious miss.  and it shows that these are not being tested or input being sought by actual business users.

Who cares who the creator of the flow is?  the people involved in the actual approval process only care about who started the process and who is approving/rejecting things

@Anonymous - thanks for the 'started' link. This is a huge miss for actual business case use. The Flow creator is the least important data point for approvers to see. The flow triggering user should be the primary data required for something like this. I can't wait for this to be implemented. Flow is such a powerful tool, but it's the little misses like this which erode user confidence in it.

Hi The Created By field in the Approval workflow email is the person who created the Flow... usually an IT developer who has nothing to do with the business process.  Can we either have the option to remove this text all together or change to the business user who triggered the approval? thank you.approvalWorkflow.png

AGREED !!!  And, when sending out an Approval Workflow, there is an Originator, a (Cc) Distribution List, and an Approver1, Approver2, Approver3, and, they are NOT automatically the Author's Manager.

When I developed Web-Enabled Workflows on IBM platforms in the 1990s, yes, more than 20 years ago, for Fortune 100 companies, we made this happen with ReviewerTeams, (i.e, the CcList) and ApproverTeams, etc..  These Teams need to be presented as CheckLists that can be modifed for each Approval-Item, with an AddUserToTeam field as well.

For one Workflow, I have (3) very distinctly different ReviewerTeams and also (3) ApproverTeams, with minumum of (2) Approvers on each ApproverTeam.

Hi, yes i agree...can the Created By and Requested for be removed ?

Else can we have the option to disable or hide these ?

Strongly agreed.

Developer must have control for created by and/or  requested for field. Other wise the approval element is of no use.

I also believe there shoud not be any element that user user can't either customize or disable.

Similar problem here.

I created the form and flow for a department, now whenever someone completes the form, the workflow is sent to the Admin team, but it looks like its from me and not the person who completed the form
