Make is so you can delete a SharePoint item from a list with more than 5000 Items

See title... It does nto work today and poses significant problems.

I just tested the Delete Item action on a list with >10,000 items, and it successfully deleted (recycled) the item.  Unfortunately, I need to do this for thousands of items, and would prefer that they just permantly deleted instead of going to the recycle been where they will make it extremely difficult for users/admins to find other important items that need to be recovered.
