PAD - Parse Text Action - Use Excel functions to parse text not RegEx - Will help those of us that are not developers and know excel

So for example I want to use the Parse Text action to take a file name and parse it into three variables Date, Employee Last Name and Employee ID.  I could do this super easy with LEFT(), RIGHT() as expressions to parse out the three variables... but a RegEx?  I have no idea... It would definitely help those of us that are business analysts... and have no idea how to form a RegEx.  Thanks!

So I'm assuming the file name has the format "Date-LastName-Id.txt". This is a simple enough case where you don't need to use a RegEx. You can just use Split Text using a hyphen as a delimiter. This will give you all of the individual strings that are separated by a hyphen. You can use anything as the delimiter. Is there anything else that this action would do?

I see thank you.  New to PAD so learning all of the actions... I did end up using split. Thanks!
