Publishing Approval Flow

A team is collaborating on a policy document, the site has the publishing feature enabled.  The document the team is collaborating on is in Draft state, when the team feels the document is ready, they will publish the document.  This action will trigger a Publishing Approval Flow, if Approved by the Approver Group the document is Published and a Major version is set.  If Rejected te document remains in Draft state.

I've created a manual version of this flow. See Publish Approval (Manual) Flow

Any update on this?

What would be really useful is to add a condition that could check the 'Approval Status' field.

When this changed to pending, something along the lines of the above flow could move it to 'Approved' or 'Rejected' bsed on the approval response.

Yes please.  This would be very helpful as we need this for 3 different scenarios.  We do have a workaround but it requires 4 different flows to run and isn't very efficient.  Does Microsoft have an update on this?

You can now set content approval status in SharePoint: https://docs.microsoft.com/connectors/sharepointonline/#set-content-approval-status

Super User

So.. we can SET the Content Approval Status (thank you) but how can we READ the Content Approval Status?

Advocate I

Can we please get a column or metadata tag for the approval date. The 'modified' column is not relevant for any form of document control as it does not indicate the date a file modification was approved. We need the date that the document was last approved to be able to set a review document flow. @Stephen Or can you please explain how I can set this up, especially seeming flows expire so we cant even set one up using - When a file modified (properties only) - With trigger for Moderation Status = 'Approve' because this would leave a flow open for possibly a year or a few years
