State machines and long running states

We need state machine workflows & very long running workflows; many workflows cannot be created without state machines (or maintenance would be a nightmare); we have state machine workflow in SharePoint Designer. if Flow doesn't provide state machine WF, people won't use it in real enterprise scenarios

Also see this request where @Stephen already put this idea "under review" and gave a workaround:

"You can accomplish this today with switch inside a do-until and a variable. You just switch on the variable and do-until whatever the terminal state of the machin is. Inside each branch you set the variable to whatever the next state is. However, we understand that it would be easier with a first-classed shape. "
