open a sharepoint file from power automate desktop

Power Automate Desktop can currently only open files stored on the local machine.

Microsoft wants people to store there files on sharepoint, instead of locally or on file servers.


Not having access to our documents (that are now stored in Sharepoint) with Power Automate Desktop is a huge problem. The work around of syncing sharepoint files locally is not a good solution.

 

Please add support to open files from a sharepoint URL.

in release 2.17 there was a bug that prevented opening an Excel by a sharepoint URL.
This issue has been resolved in PAD 2.18
So this Idea is now possible possible again.
One minor improvement would be an integrated way to easily navigate to the SharePoint stored Excel file from PAD when configuring the flow.
