Power Automate cloud flow - send an email

Hi

I'm struggling to retrieve the foster claimer email to then send the email to.

I connect to the Animals Information table, when a row is modified (i.e. status changed to Claimed for Foster)

Then get row by ID to retrieve the foster claimer email

Then send an email

Are you sure that your Foster Claimer column (in the Animals table) is a lookup column to the Foster table?

From your photos of the available dynamic content, it seems like the data type is text. This might be why your input on the flow status was "FH-035", because it just got the text value from the record - it didn't get the data from the Foster table.

The lookup columns should have several options in the dynamic content, like in my photo where there is Value and Type. When you choose Foster Claimer (Value) it will get the GUID.

I'm getting really frustrated as I completely understand what needs to happen but it just isn't working 😞

OMG DONE!!!

I had the non lookup field in my form - Thank you all SO MUCH!!

Yay, that's great to hear! Happy to help 🙂

Cant we just send all the animal details as parameters,  when we call the power automate flow to send an email to foster claimer ?

Hi @PratikJ ,

Indeed that is an option as well. There are many different ways of doing this, all with their own pros and cons, so you can do what you think is the best way.

For the Power Up Challenge the main goal is that you have a functionality to fulfil the requirement. How this is technically implemented is less relevant.
