Attach a file to form

I'd like to be able to use a control like the Add Picture button, but for Files of any type.

The control would open up a file picker, I could select the file and then I can upload the same as content from Add Picture.

For example, my current need is to attach a document (doc, ppt, pdf, etc) to an Annotation to a Case in Dynamics 365.

Hello everyone,

You can try:

1) Add an Add picture control
2)Change the filter (it was Image files and I chose All files).
3)Pick a pdf file from your local disk

The Add picture control will not display the pdf file.

4) Add a PDF Viewer control.
5)Set the Document property of the PDF Viewer Control to AddMediaButton1.Media
6)You can see the pdf file Smiley Happy

It worked for me, but only on my PC. I tried it on my android phone and I couldn't pick the pdf file (Step 3)

Please if someone can find a way to make it work on a android phone let us know.

@Mike8 The solution is acceptable at this point, i want to ask you if you know where the "image" (pdf file) were saved (an URL), i want to make a button that "Launch" this URL so the users can download the file i they want, not just view on the PDF Control???

@Mike8 After all, i did it with A button that On select = Launch(UploadedImageX.Image) comand, this launch a new window where shows the pdf and the users can dowload the file. The problem is resolved on my needs

Hello,

@AlexVR You can also Collect(Collection1,UploadedImageX.Media) and there you can see blob:[link] but if you try to launch it, it doesn't. I tried your way and it's working fine on my computer.
Does it work on your phone? Did you test it?

@RS It doesn't work on my phone.

@RS @Mike8 Ok, i try to make a test on my android 5 and android 6 devices, ok let me explain the results:

On android 5:

APP Installed from Play Store (Updated) --> The App created didn´t launch at all

Chrome browser for Android (Updated) --> The App launch, but i cant try the PDF Control because the buttons didn´t appear at all to access it.

On Android 6:

APP Installed from Play Store (Updated) --> The App created launch but doesn´t show any data (Sharepoint list origin)

Chrome browser for Android (Updated) --> The App didn´t launch and appear and error that can´t access Excel data base (I can´t undestand this because i doesn´t create the App from an Excel origin, its Sharepoint List)

But... On my Laptop (WIndows 7 Pro version), from Chrome Browser, and Mozilla browser works as suppossed. At least here works, until someone have this "functionality" working on Mobile devices i have to said that this case it´s not resolved partially.

Good job @AlexVR,
I hope they will see your post and fix the bugs

@Mike8Eureka, It works, let me explain the procedure, First i did the App from Scratch (without Data sources connected to the App), just using Collections, after that once i had ended the app i saved and publish, ok at this point i edit again the app and include the data source (on my needs 3 SharePoint Lists from 1 Site), and reassign the Sources connecting with the Lists of SharePoint previously created, here is the trick on my phone (Android 6) i have to install PowerApps and SharePoint Apps from Google Play, Login on both and restart the Phone, and voila! It works... The PDF Control works like supposed, i have to mention two details, All the developing was made with a Windows PC From Web Edit of Power Apps, and a little trouble, to Collect a PDF instead of a Picture from Add a Picture Control the only way is from a PC, Because from Phone HMI it just try to collect a image format, but once you have uploaded a PDF from PC interface it shows on Phone without problems. Hope this info could save someone else.

Hello @warlex,

May I ask..?
Can you upload a PDF file from your local storage of your phone by following this process or you can only upload a PDF file from your local storage of your computer?
I am asking this because you wrote: "but once you have uploaded a PDF from PC interface it shows on Phone without problems".
What did you do to show it on your phone? Uploaded from your Sharepoint source after having it there using your PC? Did I understand correctly?

Thank you for taking the time and explaining the process you followed.
