Field labels should wrap, not fade

Author Name: Shan McArthur

When you place a field on a form that has a long name, the name of the field fades. In CRM 2011, the field name would wrap. Fading causes some of the important content to not be visible. It would be more desirable to have the full field name visible via the old behavior of wrapping than to fade it. This would also allow for better future protection of moving to a more responsive web design that could accommodate more varied screen resolutions (and different devices)

The best practice would be to shorten the field names, or change the field label width in the section to accommodate long fields, and those are the current workarounds.

Especially in the header. This is extremely annoying.

Yes, and the Header has no reason to collapse to a fixed width when a browser window has enough real estate. Oddly, on some browsers (Chrome) the entire width of the field remains until the form fully loads then collapses again. So something in the UI design is forcing this upon the header tiles...

Still not fixed in UR 3

As a top 10 item on Connect that has been here now for nearly a year I'm disappointed that this still hasn't been addressed with CRM 2015. What is the point of the new "rapid release cadence" if things like this are continuously ignored?

Is this really resolved? In what version?

Please fix this product team! We plan to move 1500 users from a custom iPad client to the surface tablet (Yes, surface tabs will be rolled out so they can use CRM website in the field). A higher zoom factor on the browser (at least 150%) is required for the smaller screen to be usable and many of our field labels and field values get chopped off, instead of wrapping to the next row. We have simplified the form to have just 4 columns of data fields and still some fields don't show properly. The header is also unusable because of the same reason. We can rename the field labels and use acronyms but what to do about the data values getting chopped.. This is really bad that it hasn't been fixed in 18 months despite so many up votes from the user base.

Even if it was an option you could set via checkbox or something.
