Queries for CDS please!

Search/Filter works nicely, but it searches within the same Entity (speaking about CDS). Recalling Access Web Apps I used to create a form (gallery in PowerApps) that its datasource is a query coming from 2 or more entities, then i can search/filter any column in the query (in any table that joined the query).

I wish that Search/Filter functionality in PowerApps is extended so I can search/filter a gallery from colums not eactly existing in the gallery datasource but from a related entity. For instance, I have an Entity of ACCOUNTENTITY, and each account exist in a COUNTRY from COUNTRYENTITY, imagine the gallery from ACCOUNTENTITY, searching to COUNTRY will not work because Search work only for those fields in the entity itself.

Thanks @Yahya - we are looking to introduce support for views within Canvas apps, which would allow you to do the type of filtering and searching you mention. Please let me know if you have any additional feedback.

Hi @CWesener, Thanks. I may have somethingt o add. Views currently support one single Entity. How about Views supporting 2 or more Entities? In SQL, as you know, there is JOIN Query, then you would be able to display relevant data from more than 1 entity in the same Datatable/Gallery etc.

I remember in Access Web Apps (retired), I could create a Query that matches relevant data from 2 or more tables, even from a table and another query etc, then the new query would be the datasource for a List (Gallery in PowerApps). This is not hard to achieve in PowerApps after Spring update, but I thought raising this might be useful for your team..

I would like to add that there should be a view dedicated for the Open in Excel feature with columns defined and arranged inside that view rather than the random situation we face now.

Views also should support Excel CDS add in.
