Hi,
I have two questions, first, I have a standard approval process includes tables formatted by Markdown language, it works fine in email outlook, but when the user open the request from teams, the approval content body is just not readable and unrecognized as teams not supporting Markdown language, I need a solution so the user can read the content from both teams and outlook with the same format.
Second, is it possible to create an approval by custom adaptive card for teams and the same card to be sent to outlook as well. so the user can respond from either the email or teams. If not, what is the best solution.
Your help is really appreciated,
Thanks
Hi @YAYA
Just hit this myself today. Support for markdown is limited in that it's not unsupported in approvals at the moment see the table-> https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-automate/approvals-markdown-support
As far as I can tell you can create your own approval style process with adaptive cards but it won't appear in approvals (using send an adaptive card and wait). A great set of resource on Adaptive Cards is available from Tomasz https://poszytek.eu/en/homepage/.
If this post helps, then please consider Accept it as the solution to help the other members find it more quickly.
Cheers,
Damien
P.S. take a look at my new blog here
Is Markdown Language not supposed to be a universal language in the Microsoft Suite??
How can the Approval App have been put live in MS Teams without this language support if it is supposed to be an integration with Power Automate Flow where this is the only possible way to add detailed info????
I totally agre @Django , I am equally as confused because I have seen several articles where bloggers have used Markdown in Approvals
https://sharepains.com/2019/07/09/using-markdown-in-microsoft-flow-approval-actions/
https://d365demystified.com/2021/01/06/formatting-approvals-details-in-cloud-flows-power-automate/
But when i've tested with negative results and looked at the MS guidance, it specifically states
Would love to know what is planned here too.
Hi @DamoBird365, it is indead very clear in the documentation Use markdown to format Power Automate approvals - Power Automate | Microsoft Docs :
....but that does not mean we can do nothing about it 😁
