Error 401 for Get User Profile

Hi Guys,

I'm building a flow that will auto reply a user with a message. However, when I use the action "Get user profile", I'm getting an error 401. I can see the connection is ok.

How should I troubleshoot this?

Hi @TSYong

Thanks for confirmation.

Since I couldn’t reproduce your issue, I believe it’s not a global incident. Please help go to Microsoft 365 admin center > Health > service health area to check. If something wrong with your tenant, you will see notification here. It means our backend team know this issue for your tenant and is trying to fix it.

If there is no incident related flow listed here, please go to below website to request a remote troubleshooting support as we don’t have permission to check your tenant status from backend.

Thank you very much for your understanding and patience.

Best regards,

Anna

Hi @TSYong

Thank you for posting.

According to your description, you got error while using ‘get user profile’ action. I tested but it works fine for me.

Even though we know the error code ‘401’ and error type ‘unauthorized’, but the root cause maybe different. Please help to check the detailed error message following below steps:

To In many cases, flows fail because of an authentication error. If you have this type of error, the error message contains Unauthorized or an error code of 401 or 403 appears. You can usually fix an authentication error by updating the connection:

1.In the right pane, click on View Connections below How to fix.

2.Scroll to the connection for which you saw the Unauthorized error message.

3.Next to the connection, click or tap the Fix connection link in the message about the connection not being authenticated.

4.Verify your credentials by following the instructions that appear, return to your flow-run failure, and then click or tap Resubmit.

You can also refer official document for other failure.

If it still cannot help, I recommend you go to below website to request a remote troubleshooting support.

Hope the content above may help you.

Thanks

Hi Anna,

Below is the detailed error message I am getting:

{"error_description":"ID3035: The request was not valid or is malformed."}

This is weird because I can perform the action "Search for Users V2" but not "Get user profile V2". Any idea?

Tong Shen

Hi @TSYong

Thanks for update.

May I know did you enable MFA for this account?

Best regards,

Anna

Hello Anna,

There's no MFA for this account. Pretty weird.
