Import CSV not Excel?

Hello, I know this has got to be the n00b question of all time but for the life of me I can not figure it out and see no one else talking about it. How can I get CSV data into a flow. Not Excel, just good ol' CSV. I know you can get it out, how do I get it in.

You can use Parse CSV action from Plumsail Documents connector. It allows you to convert CSV into an array and variables for each column. Please read this article demonstrating how it works.

I am afraid currently get data from CSV file is not avaiable under Microsoft Flow.

There is an idea submitted on this already:

To generate CSV table is possible:

If there were a "Mark as Answer" I guess I could stomach that, but (and no offense to you, @v-micsh-msft) but I can't "Accept as Solution". This is absurd. How can Flow have been around this long, purport to be able to compete with IFTTT and not be able to extract data from a well-formed CSV file? I have seen other's suggestions and I have even seen responses of "yes, we know people are asking for it but we don't have any plan to do it." Wow.

 

The template you cite is not useful, it is CSV *output* which is something in which I am not interested. Customer has an AS/400 that can drop a CSV or an Excel file, and they *want* to touch the file before putting it in OneDrive but they don't want to have to create a table and then make sure they name it correctly. We're aiming for lowest amount of human interaction here.

there is only this  workaround for now:

 

convert your file to xlsx and insert a table into the sheet you want to get values from; use the Excel action in MS Flow to get the rows

In our 2nd installment of this new ongoing feature in the Community, we're thrilled to announce that Chris Piasecki is our Super User of the Month for March 2024.
