Send an HTTP Request V2 URI path is not valid, but works in Graph Explorer

I know this is a quasi-repeat of another post, but I am looking for a viable option/solution/workaround that does not involve using a PREMIUM solution. The company I work for will not pay for the PREMIUM feature and I do not want to pay for it out of my own pocket.

So, I am using "Send HTTP Request V2" to post a message in a Teams Channel (we need to mention the Channel and that does not work using 'Post using Adaptive Cards), I get URI path is not a valid, but using the same URI works in Graph Explorer. I don't get why the "URI path is not a valid Graph endpoint, path is neither absolute nor relative or resource/object is not supported for this connector" error.

Is it indeed a problem with the connector? Could it be a permission issue?

This is something that should work as it clearly works in Graph.

Does anyone have any insight or suggestions?

Thank you!

Could you show your flow?

Welcome to my web site.

Good day Victor.

Here it is:

The error I get all the time is:

URI path is not a valid Graph endpoint, path is neither absolute nor relative or resource/object is not supported for this connector. Resources: groups. Uri:

It is so odd because it works in Graph.

Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

You are using /teams

Yes we are using teams and I am wondering what you are meaning by the screen capture.

We are using POST ->{outputs('GroupTeamID')}/channels/@{outputs('ChannelID')}/me...

Sorry I am not a programmer and am learning as I go along with this.

Thank you.

It clearly states that the Power Automate action only supports the /groups graph endpoint.  You are trying to use the action for an unsupported graph endpoint (/teams) , and are getting an error message that says so.

Hi @brentfraser,

could you please explain why did you decide to use a GRAPH request instead of action "Post message in a chat or channel" of connector "Microsoft Teams"?

Welcome to my web site.

Hi Victor,

We are using the GRAPH request because we have to @mention the channel and using Post message in a chat or channel, you can only @mention a person. Mentioning the channel is a must so I am trying to figure out how to do that. It's odd that you can mention a person and not a channel using this method.

I hope that explains it.

Thank you again!

@lbendlin oh ok..... so what option can/do you use without going premium as my employer won't pay for that.

Thanks for the insight!

Hi @brentfraser,

I'm afraid a premium connector is your only option.

Welcome to my web site.

@VictorIvanidze and @lbendlin thanks for the help. I will pay for it out of my pocket then.

Have a great day you both and thanks again.

Which premium connector did you use. I was having the same issue.

@mando643 I have not purchased it yet. I don't really want to pay out of my own pocket but the one I would go with is the "Invoke a HTTP Request -> HTTP with Azure AD" connector as you can mention both channels and individuals and that's what I need.

Ok that is the one I was going to use. Power automate offers a 90 day free trial which is what I did.

@brentfraser Hello, I'm facing the same issue... and I also want to tag a Teams Channel. Did you found any solutions?

Just for reference.

With "Send HTTP Request V2" you can use only one segment which is supported as of now i.e. "/groups".
Other segments are not supported for now using "Send HTTP Request V2" action.
Please refer the official documentation.
Just for testing you can invoke this Graph API "", using "Send HTTP Request V2" action.
you would not get any error.

Thanks for the understanding.

I think currently below resources and Objects are not supported when using HTTP request even though they work in graph explorer.

Resources: teams,me,users

Objects: channels,chats,installedApps,messages,pinnedMessages.

It is possible to tag channels, users, or tags created. I have been able to accomplish this through power automate. Using the 'Invoke an HTTP Request with Entra ID' connector.

Here is an example online I followed:
