Smartsheet connection broken

I'm new to Flows but want to use a template that will allow me to use an 'input form' (in MS Forms) which will then update Smartsheet. There was a link to let me make the connection to MS Forms and to Smartsheet but the Smartsheet one didn't work. Can anyone help me at all please?

Hi @Magikmissy

You're doing the right steps to do the connection. There is an issue between Smartsheet and Power Automate. I think this can be:

  1. A temporary issue in the connection or service
  2. Don't have permission on the Smartsheet side to add a connection to Flow.

Can you ping the guys over at Smartsheet to see if there's an issue from their side and check the permissions?

Hi @Magikmissy ,

  • First, you need to make sure that the account you use to create Smartsheet connection can log in to Smartsheet.
  • Then you can try to clear your browser cache and create a new connection again.

Please take a try and see if the issue still exists.

Hi @v-bacao-msft

Thanks for this. I use Smartsheet all day every day so there's no issues there, and I just cleared my browser cache but it still didn't work.

😫

Hi @manuelstgomes

Thanks for your response. The people at Smartsheet say it's Microsoft's issue and vice versa!!

🙈

Hi @Magikmissy

I don't know Smartsheet, but is there an administrator or similar role that you need to define so that you can link Power Automate with Smartsheet?

I just created a trial account and did the following steps.

  1. Logged in my account in smartsheet
  2. Create a new Flow
  3. Added the trigger "When a new row is created"
  4. Clicked the add connection
  5. Prompted me with the permissions:

Then I went digging and found the user management page:

I suspect that your user doesn't have permission to do "admin" tasks like approve connections and allow access.

Can you please check with your Smartsheet admin if you have any of these permissions so that you can add the connection in Flow?

I hope this helps.

Thanks @manuelstgomes but I have admin rights on both bits of software. 😏
