My goal is to send a Teams message to a dynamic target channel.
I currently have an Excel file containing rows of [key | Channel name | groupId/channelId ]. For example :
Key1 Channel 1 "groupId":"...","channelId":"..."
Key2 Channel 2 "groupId":"...","channelId":"..."
(the groupId/channelId values are extracted from the Teams application and manually inserted in the Excel file)
So, in my flow, I have the "key" in hand. I have an Excel "get a row" task that filters with that key, and then another task assigns a variable with the groupId/channelId value.
I would then like to send a message to that channel. In the "send a Teams message" task, the Channel field is pre-filled with my organization's channels, and then there's the "Add a custom value" option.
What is the syntax for that custom value ? I've tried using the channel name or the groupId/channelId combo, both result in an error.
Thanks.
Found my answer, you just need to use the value for the channelId, no double-quotes, inside the "Channel" field in the Power Automate "Send a Teams message" form.
