Twitter Connection failed - is there something I can do? Or is Twitter to blame?

I had a perfectly functioning flow that took search inputs from a Power app, searched Twitter, and then emailed the results. It suddenly stopped working and was telling me the connection to Twitter failed, "unathorized user". I have tried everything I know to fix it. When I try to make a new connection, outside of the flow I get the error "Failed to login. Response status code does not indicate success: 401 (Unathorized)." When I try to make a new connection inside the flow I get the error message, "Failed to create connection for connection id '/providers/Microsoft.PowerApps/apis/shared_twitter/connections/shared-twitter-06acc949-7aa0-440f-82a7-67be42fa71f2'. error putting existing connection for connector /providers/Microsoft.PowerApps/apis/shared_twitter" What can I do? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi RobRush. I hear this but why I have doubts is because the error message isn't clear enough for a simpleton like me. My need is like others'. I want to send a handful of tweets per mth automatically to save me the hassle. Twitter now requires the v2 api setting up which is what is used in the PA byoa connection set up. The free Twitter developer account allows up to 1500 tweets to be sent per month. I need between c40 & 120. When I run my PA flow the error message says I may need elevated access. Why? There's no clear explanation anywhere from either MS or Twitter that I can find. I've asked questions on the Twitter forum but the response suggests people there are clueless & one other Twitter-PA user at least has the same issue as me. My guess (!) would be it's something to do with authorisation permissions MS PA has with Twitter, but this isn't being identified, confirmed,, acknowledged or explained (suggesting perhaps it's NOT the issue at all!). I think this because I've switched to a back-up method to continue issuing automated tweets. I set it up in case of just this kind of failure of service scenario. I set this one up with Pabbly Connect & it's working fine atm. I'd prefer MS PA but it ain't working. All I had to do was follow Pabbly instructions to establish a revised connection with Twitter & it's worked perfectly since.

So the clear question is, why does the Twitter connection work for Pabbly Connect but not MS PA? It may simply be that Pabbly Connect have had to set up a paid-for Twitter connection to provide service continuity & that's what I'm tapping into.

So far, thankfully there continues to be no charge from Pabbly for low need users like me 😁👍.

Therefore, perhaps you can understand my thinking when other automation service providers don't have a problem in being able to allow me to send automated tweets to Twitter. If Pabbly Connect have had to set up a paid-for Twitter connection, then perhaps MS PA has too? If so, does MS PA require a paid-for account themselves in order to use the byoa Twitter connection? Ergo, my error message? But how can this be, when the MS PA error message implies the issue is with Twitter?

I'm afraid I'm either ignorant of something to do with the authorisations (quite likely), or my comments about a lack of information from both organisations remains valid.

Better information than I have is very welcome!

I got myself a paid $100/month account and set up a BYOA type of twitter connector. When I try to fetch tweets i get this error. Raised a Service request with Power Platform support and they weren't even aware of this twitter api connector issue (SHOCKING!). And, they are trying to figure out what the problem is...

Is anyone able to fetch tweets with a paid twitter api through a power platform connector?

You currently have access to Twitter API v2 endpoints and limited v1.1 endpoints only. If you need access to this endpoint, you may need a different access level. You can learn more here: https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/twitter-api/getting-started/about-twitter-api#v2-access-leve

And yes, I forgot to mention that there's the example of a paid-for (elevated) Twitter developer account api having been set up, only for the Twitter account holder to then STILL find automated tweets can't be sent from MS PA, to Twitter. Surely this strongly suggests that the 2 organisations are in conflict which isn't being revealed, with Twitter rejecting MS PA generated automated tweets, OR, there's an issue with just MS PA, or just Twitter... or both!

Meantime, free account users of both platforms are not getting the explanations we require.

Or what IS really going wrong here?

Honestly i think part of it is Elon is directly feuding with Microsoft. Hes a man child who throws tantrums. Its not surprising the twitter support serms clueless, he termed a major portion of his work force. Twitter is in the process of being destroyed from within
