I'm using the approval action "start and wait for an approval" in my flow that usually sends e-mail and teams notification (Notification = on). This usually works fine but this morning, no approval arrived at the approver and the flow was in running-state for more than 1h. After cancelling and resubmitting, the flow worked fine.
In the Dataverse table "Approvals" I could find the corresponding entry but no entry was found in the "Approval Request" table.
Has anybody experienced such a phenomena? Could this be a bug?
I saw the same problem here: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Building-PVA-chatbots-in/Flow-stuck-at-start-and-wait-for-approv...
After a delay of more than 2h, the table entry in approval requests was added and the approver recieved the notification. Looks like this was not a bug but a bit a larger delay.
Strange since I never experienced a delay larger than some minutes for the approval....
Unless the name of the approval is a typo in your post you are using an older version of the approval actions, probably taken from an old template. Currently there are only three Approval actions. Start and Wait for an Approval is the full version. Create an Approval is an asynchronous version that must be used in combination with Wait for an Approval. Please try using either Start and Wait for an Approval or the combination of Creating an Approval and then waiting for it.
sorry, the action I used was indeed "Start and wait for an approval" - fixed it.
