Auto generating Excel documents from a form

Hi !

I was wondering if it was possible to auto-generate an excel document from a form.

The idea is simple :

1) The user fill a microsoft form

2) An excel document is created from a template

I know that it is easy to do this with google forms thanks to add-ons like autocrat for example but I didn't find anything with power automates.

Do you have any idea of how I could do this?

Thanks!!

you do not need to know too much about html in this case.

Steps-

1. Go to code view(<> click on this)  in send email.

2. Type simple html code (take reference from here- https://www.w3schools.com/html/html_tables.aspAnnotation 2020-06-23 094341.jpg

Steps-

1. Create an excel sheet with format as table (select all columns based on requirement in table).

2. upload that excel in SharePoint Doc lib.

3. When MS form submitted, update that responses using action - Add  a row into table.

4. use delete item in last so that your excel should be cleaned every time.

Hi @Depoxxxx,

Has your problem been solved by the steps provided by @Hardesh15?

There are some associated post with a similar desire, I guess they could help you something:

Hi @v-litu-msft  and @Hardesh15 ,

Thank you for your answers !!

Reading those I realized that I may not have been clear enough.

I already knew how to add a row to a table but with a 30 question form it is not very convenient to present the answer.

The idea is thus to fill an excel sheet with variable fields and to send it to the people who submitted the form for example. They can then print it if needed or store it in order to send it to other people.

I already created a template with variable fields.

I hope I made my request clearer,

Thank you,

@Depoxxxx

If your Form has so many questions then using excel is worst idea. The reason for this as- each question becomes column in excel which  will be quite large and not user friendly.

I would suggest use html coding in email body and design as you want.

Thanks

@Hardesh15 ,

Yeah that is why I posted this. As I don't know html and knew that this was possible on Google Forms, I was wondering if it was possible on microsoft forms. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBN9SaG-MJQ&t=478s if you want an example)

Thanks,

@Hardesh15 ,

Okay so I guess there is no other solution.

I just find it way more simple to make the template look pretty in excel but nevermind!!

Thanks!
