Disable dynamic expression for an attribute of Custom Connector

Scenario: I have a custom connector defined. I do not want users using dynamic content/expression in one of my field. How do I disable this feature? Is there any attribute in the swagger definition against a schema to disable this?

Re: Disable dynamic expression for an attribute of Custom Connector

Hi @sandeepnmenon,

Yes, you are right.

Currently there is no way to disable the Dynamic Content/Expression usage within Microsoft Flow portal, or through the Custom Connector definition.

For the error code/Error messages mentioned by Barry, I think he means to define the Failure Response Body within the OpenAPI file.

Describing responses

For the Input Reminder, based on what I know, there is no way to implement that.

Hope staff @Samuel could share more information on this issue.

Re: Disable dynamic expression for an attribute of Custom Connector

Hi @sandeepnmenon,

Do you mean that this field can only fill the content manually, and can't use Expression to modify the content?

Sorry, I am not familiar with the custom connector. I don't know if we can disable such input during the process of creating a custom connector.

Hope that the following links can help you a little:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/custom-connectors/

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/custom-connectors/define-openapi-definition

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/custom-connectors/define-blank

In addition, you could consider adding a hint to the corresponding field like other actions, prompting the user not to use Dynamic or Expression when configuring this field.

If possible, you could also add error codes and error messages, showing that this field cannot use function inside Expression.

Best Regards,

Barry

Re: Disable dynamic expression for an attribute of Custom Connector

Thank you @v-bacao-msft for the links.

Yes I mean that this field can only fill the content manually, and can't use Expression to modify the content.

My scenario cannot have users adding expressions in that field. (Users can ignore the hint).

Error codes and error messages hinder user experience, but if my ask is not possible this would seem the way to go.

Can you provide an example of giving error messages using a condition like mine?

Re: Disable dynamic expression for an attribute of Custom Connector

Currently there seems to be no support of disabling dynamic expressions for a field.

@v-bacao-msftCan you provide an example of giving error messages like you mentioned using a condition like mine?
