Flow & Updating CRM d365 online datetime attribute field

Issue :

We'd like to use flow for updating datetime attribute of opportunity entity with current date & time.

For that we use utcNow() function available in flow but whenever same attribute  is displayed in crm view , time is incorrect & 6 hours ahead.

Expected outcome:

Ideally it should display 12/08/2020 11:34 AM (-6 hours CST). (See last screenshot)

Hi @MSFlowUser ,

Could you please share the details of your flow steps and flow running result?

From this blog, we can know that expect the Entity Field settings(User Local), the first priority setting to control the time zone of date is User Setting  – Each user account has a time zone value in their personalization settings, this defines what the “local time” is for the user account. This is set in the user’s profile.

Please go to Dynamics 365 Setting - Personal Options, and set Time Zone to your local time zone.

Hope this helps.

Hi  ,
Thanks for looking into this.
I am attaching some snapshots to provide information that you are looking for.

1 - Flow steps:

2- Result from running the flow:

3- CRM View :

4- Time zone settings in d365online:

Flow ran on 12/9/2020 on 11:01 AM (CST)
Based on screenshot 2, when flow  ran  UTC datetime was 2020-12-09 5:01:14 PM which is +6 from CST.
Based on screenshot 3, if correct UTC time was inserted into CRM , should it  display 12/9/2020 11:01 AM instead of 12/9/2020 5:01 PM ?

Hi @MSFlowUser ,

So weird!

Result in Flow Run shows '2020-12-09T17:01:14Z' (UTC) for that DataTime field, which is reasonable since actually all date time values saved in CDS and processed in Flow are in UTC format and then display per the User Setting or Time Zone behavior, so the flow run result shows that the Update process is good, and it's more like a TimeZone Display issue, but I can't reproduce your issue even 100% repeating your steps and configuration.

Perhaps, you need more test in different environment, e.g. Account, Environment, Browser, Computer, etc.
