Having user trigger Flow from SharePoint Event Calendar

I have set up a flow to obtain approvals.  This flow should be triggered by the user not by any sort of creation or update to the event (I've tried those and they work fine).  The idea is that the event remains in a draft state until the user determines that it is ready for review and approval.

I created the flow in Flow, not with the workflow option that seems to be showing on my Event Calendar.  From item lists on the same site I can trigger Flows, but not from the Event Calendar.  I only see options to create 2010 or 2013 Workflows.

Is this a known limitation?  Anyone know a way to see my flow and let the user trigger it?

Calendars in SharePoint do not have the "modern" interface and, as a result, do not include the toolbar where you see Flow.

As a work around, add a yes/no column to the calendar for the user to check and then have a Flow run when the box is checked.
