How to treat wrong email information entries

Hi !

I have a flow where some email addresses are filled in a Microsoft Form. These emails are used in a approval flow. If the user types an invalid email address in the fields that the flow aborts.

Is there anyway to treat these errors ? Since I´m the owner of the flows, I receive an email that something wrong happens, but is there any how to alert the user the filled the form ?

Tks,

Rogério

Hi @RogerioPazini

As far as I am aware there is no function for this. Writing an expression for it is probably also a challenge. I have seen pretty long regular expressions for this in other type of products:

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/201323/how-to-validate-an-email-address-using-a-regular-expressi...

My approach would be to handle it on the input side of things, if possible. You are now using Microsoft Forms. If you are allowed you could potentially switch to D365 Customer Voice (fka Forms Pro):

https://dynamics.microsoft.com/en-gb/customer-voice-transition/

In this product you can restrict a text column to be validated as an e-mail address. You would still be able to use When a new response is submitted trigger because it should also list your D365 Customer Voice forms.
