Importing Email Attachments to SharePoint Not Working

I built a simple flow that will look at the inbox of an account, look at the email attachment, and then take that attachment and import it into a SharePoint document library.

Here is the issue:

When the document uploads to SharePoint (.PDF) it does not allow me to view the file.

Here is how the flow is built:

When a new emails arrives, it looks at the inbox.

next step is an apply to each for attachments.

Next is a SharePoint control to create a file in a SharePoint document library.

My site address is correct because it pulled in the folder I want to point at.

The File Name uses dynamic content for the name of the attachment

File Content is using the dynamic content "attachment ID"

As stated earlier, the flow runs as expected and the documents are there in the SharePoint library, but I cannot open or view the PDF files. I have both Adobe and Nuance applications on my computer for PDF viewing/editing.

Please help if you know a resolution to this.

Thank you,

Cody Allison

Hi @Anonymous,

Please follow the template below to configure the Dynamic content:

Save my email attachments to a SharePoint document library

Just from your description, for the file content part, I think it should be configured with the

Content

(Attachment Content)

Michael,

Thank you for the reply. I have made the change as you suggested but now the workflow will not fire. I have sent multiple new emails with attachments to the account and the workflow has not run. Is there a way to change the frequency in which the trigger fires? I believe the default is every 15 minutes, but it has been an hour since I sent the first email and have sent multiple follow up emails and the trigger has not gone off since I made the change.

Thank you,

Cody Allison

Hi Cody,

No, Flow running frequency can't be managed through the Flow Design UI.

If the Flow won't fire, things you need to check:

1. Check the Mail trigger is well configured, including the Folder, and the Mail Account used,

2. Then please wait a while (greater than the Interval) after Flow has been saved, then send one Email again.

If that still can't help, please take a try to build another Flow to check, don't use the template, start from the actual trigger and Action.

Regards,

Michael

Michael,

I have verified my flow has the correct configuration and it stll will not fire. I have sent multiple emails to the inbox and it has not resolved the issue.
