Managing and Monitoring Microsoft Flow

Dear,

A couple of questions about the operational management of the running flow instances,

Is there anyway to:

- Cancel running Flow instances ?

- Cancel / Remove the Failed Flow instances?

- Pause/Stop and Re-run a running flow instance?

- To query the number of instances by flow type and their results (kind of metrics/dashboard) to get an idea about the health status of the flow executions?

- To stage the flow definitions between environments like (Dev/Test/UAT/Prod)?

- To change the address and credentials of the used connections?

- To export and/re-import the flow definitions as textual files (xml, json or etc.)?

- To retrieve/export the trigger/contextual (meta) data from the ended, failed and/or running instances using any scripting language?

- etc.

Kind regards,

MehrdadG

Hi @MehrdadG,

- Cancel running Flow instances ?

  No

- Cancel / Remove the Failed Flow instances?

If flow fails to run it shows in the logs. There are no multiple instances of flow.

- Pause/Stop and Re-run a running flow instance?

Press the On/Off button against the flow from the My Flow menu.

- To query the number of instances by flow type and their results (kind of metrics/dashboard) to get an idea about the health

   status of the flow executions?

For each run flow produce logs and there are no dashboard.

- To stage the flow definitions between environments like (Dev/Test/UAT/Prod)?

   No

- To change the address and credentials of the used connections?

There is no direct way but there is a way 🙂  Try temporarily disables the access or change the password (Dynamics, SQL, etc).    Go to connections. It will ask you to reenter the credentials.

- To export and/re-import the flow definitions as textual files (xml, json or etc.)?

   No

- To retrieve/export the trigger/contextual (meta) data from the ended, failed and/or running instances using any scripting language?

  No

In regard to the first question, it is now possible to cancel running flow instances. In my Flows, click on your flow. Look at Run History, and tap on the running flow. Tap the X button for Cancel and say Yes to confirm. Hooray!
