Microsoft Flow Questions and frustration

Hello,

I am trying to perform three scenarios:

  1. if i wanted to update a list item column with values from another item column.
  2. If i wanted to update a list item column value such that when i enter a value, it says "review" in another item column as a value.
  3. To update a sharepoint list with values from another sharepoint list.

For example:

  1. A resource item column value is IT and i wanted to update another item column with the same value (IT). Basically, if i entered IT, the other item column will automatically update to IT
  2. A resource item column value is IT and i wanted to update another item column with a different value (HR). Basically, if i entered IT, the other item column will automatically update to HR
  3. Copy all the values from list 1 to list 2. And anytime i keep updating the primary list, the secondary keeps updating.

How do i go about this?

Thanks.

A good way to approach this might be for you to take your best shot at each of these scenarios.  If you are having issues, post your question along with screen shots of your Flow here.

I assume that you are referring to a SharePoint list.  If so, select one to the SharePoint triggers to start your Flow (when an item is created, etc.).  Then you might have a condition.  Based on your condition, you might use a SharePoint update item action to update the list.

Thanks @ScottShearer .

I was able to figure out scenario 3. I am still dealing with scenario 1 & 2.

Another scenario i am dealing with is i want to be able to send an email when a person lookup column has been edited.

For example: when a person lookup column is edited with a person's display name, i want the system to resolve the name and get the email address. Then send an email to that person only when that column has been modified.

I was able to work out a flow but my issue is that when other columns in the item are edited, an email is sent out to the resolved email.

i only want the email sent when the person look up column is filled and when it is filled do not send an email except the person has been replaced with another person. Also when other columns are modified, do not send an email except the person look up column has been modified.
