Multiple choice update using flow in Dynamics 365

Dear Community,

I have created a flow, which is triggered by an update, where i create a new record in a different entity. Both entities have a common "choices" field where i want to translate the data from entity A to entity B. The choices fields are identical but when i create the new record with the dynamic content of the other entity, the choices aren't taken across.

Please can you help? I've seen that maybe i need to create and array before transfering the data but been unable to do this sucessfully.

Many thanks

Could you please tell us how the output of choices look like?

@Reimi this is part of the issue i think. When i run a test, the field within CRM which i have created doesnt appear in the output body. I ran a "compose" task over the field (as it is available to select from the dynamic options) and the below appears:

I am not applying any filters to the trigger other than the field which i wish it to be triggered from. Below shows that the field is able to be selected

Hi @drewcarousel ,

If nothing is showing in the output when you click on the link it means that there is nothing coming in the input. Also can you please confirm if the choice field is yes / no or optionset.

Thanks

its an options set "Choices" field type under the new naming convention

Hi @drewcarousel ,

For updating optionset you would need the integer value and not label which you see on the UI , so if you have both optionset value same then you can update it with output of initial step.

For eg. entity A has following optionsets:

Text             Value

XX                1

YY                 2

ZZ                 3

whereas if entity B optionset has following values :

Text              Value

XX        4

YY        5

ZZ        6

updating values from Entity A to B wont work in this scenario as the values behind the labels are not same. In this case you need to do mapping between entity A values and B  Values .

Thanks

Hi ManishJain,

The option set on both entities are identical, there is no difference on the value. Any other suggestions?

Best regards,

Drew

Hi @drewcarousel ,

Can you please do compose action after the trigger step and put the optionset value in compose to see if the value is retrieved .

Thanks
