Not able to save null value into date field(CRM DYNAMICS instance).

Need to store the QuestionDue Date field , based on codition if it is modified new value and if no change in value keep the same value, but this is not happening, i have tried if(condition,'new value',null/''), but if i am not putting the value into the field '' the json on save shows "field_questionduedate":null, please help. 

I believe this is a bug with the microsoft Flow for DateTime fields.

Could you please share a full screenshot of your flow's configuration?

 

I have made a test and the issue is confirmed on my side. Currently, we could not save a null value into a Date column of Dynamics 365 entity, because the null expression would be converted into a empty string ("")  within flow and then typed into the Date column of Dynamics 365 entity.

 

I afraid that there is no way to save a null value into a Date column of Dynamics 365 entity using Microsoft Flow currently. If you would like this feature to be added in Microsoft Flow, please submit an idea to Flow Ideas Forum:

Thanks for your kind reply & try on this case, 

even i have tried to pass null through JSON- Object still not able to pass the null 

{

"Mydate":null

}

but still its not in good situation. If possible can you please raise a bug / ticket for the same topic ???

I have run into the same problem. I fixed it by exporting the flow, manually updating the inputs and then re-importing.

 

The reason it happens is because the inputs are wrapped by the @ character and curly braces.  The result of this is always a string.  Refer to the Schema reference for Workflow Definition Language in Azure Logic Apps.

 

In your case you will probably find the input looks something like this:

    "fedcap_questionsduedate": "@{items('actionname')?['Questions_Due_Date']}",
    "fedcap_receivedfromemail": "@{items('actionname')?['Received_From_Email']}",
    "fedcap_rfptoreleasedate": "@{items('actionname')?['Rfp_To_Release_Date']}",
    "fedcap_taskordernumber": "@{items('actionname')?['Task_Order_Number']}",

}

I have highlighted the curly braces which you need to delete so that it looks like this:

We have implemented in Way around in following steps,

1) Added a old date (ex 02/02/1902) and inserted into Dynamics for the values where no / invalid date/ null date was supposed to be inserted.

2) Using business rule if the date is 02/02/1902 clear the fields.

Just need to confirm can we save Dyanamics 365 Date field with null value ???
