Office 365 Outlook - String functions on email body

Hi all, Flow newbie here.

I have a Flow that, when a new email is received, creates a SharePoint list item and assigns parts of the email to columns. I then use SharePoint calculated columns to extract substrings from the subject. I want to do this for the body as well, but SharePoint calculated columns don't support multiline text, and the emails are longer than 255 characters so can't be used with a single line text column.

Since I can't solve this inside SharePoint, I wondered if I could run the substring functions inside Flow instead.

Is it possible to do this with Flow, now or planned for the future? Or, can anyone suggest an alternative way of solving the problem, such as

- an O365 Outlook addin?

- a SharePoint workflow?

- something else?

Re: Office 365 Outlook - String functions on email body

Hi lifelongjourney,

Run the substring functions inside Flow is currently not supported yet, may I suggest you submit an idea at Flow Ideas Forum so it might be considered for future release?

About using an alternative way of solving this problem, you could also submit a new thread on each Community Forum to see if you could get a solution.
