Reaching the limits - how can I make this simple

Good day,

I am just looking for some advice as to where to start.
I have an excel spreadsheet with 80,000 records. I'd like to/I have to:
1. Upload all 80,000 records to sharepoint list as a start.
2. Once a year, update ALL the records (Some records will be updated, some deleted, new one's added)

At the moment this is a manual process: I take about 20,000 records at a time and upload it from excel to the sharepoint list.
Can I automate this in some way?
What I have thought of so far just sound to cumbersome.

I think you will need to use a third-party tool to upload that many items without encountering threshold limits. At my company we use Layer2 Cloud Connector for this type of thing. They have a connector for Excel, but requires the Enterprise license for that connector. Just be sure to index some columns in your list before you do the sync so you can use them in your views.

Layer2 can also handle your second requirement of the annual update.
