Is there a way to gather the 'From' Email address value from an approval email response?
Example - An approval email was sent to me. I approved. Within Flow, I want to verify that the 'From' Email address is equal to the person who the approval was sent to (Me).
The approve / deny responses are links that open in a browser. There is no reply email.
Okay, let me say this differently. Can I gather the user who responded to the task? Whether it be their name, user login, etc.
No. I tried by sending the email to two different accounts. One email was outside of my org. When I clicked the link from the email sent to the address outside of my org, I was not prompted to sign in.
Basically, everyone sees the same link and the first one to hit it drives the action.
What I have seen done is chaining a series of approval emails in nested conditionals:
Send email to A
Approval?
If yes, send email to B
Approval?
If yes, perform action
If no, terminate flow
Thanks for the response and that does make sense. However, I am only sending this to one person for approval and I just want to verify the person who I sent it to is actually approving and that they haven't forwarded the email to someone else. Do you have any ideas for that?
As far as I can tell, that's not possible in flow. In November, @RajRa stated that they "are working to improve this in a future release"
