SharePoint item manualy trigger Flow

Hello all,

I am looking for answer to one thing. I have Flow that is triggered manualy from SharePoint item menu. So for items in list I can manually trigger some actions I need.

Now if I want to share this Flow to another users that have access to this list items what I have to do?

  • I was trying to assign users as Run-Only ones via security group - not working.
  • I was trying to assing whole list as Owner of this Flow - not working.
  • I assigned user as Owner of this Flow directly - the only working solution. Now this user can see Flow in menu and can run it.

I have also specified service account under Connections Used to be sure it wont ask user to create connection when triggering.

So what is the correct way to share manualy triggered Flow for SharePoint list item??

Thank you for answers.

P.

Re: SharePoint item manula trigger Flow

@ScottShearer

I find combination that finally works

There is need to assign user to list with contribute role and then assign user to run-as under flow, this combination works perfectly.

The only thing that is not working is, when you add a security group, this does not work. Smiley Indifferent

@vecerpa:

Users must have at least contribute access to the list in order to see a "for a selected item" flow in SharePoint.

Have you tried adding the list as a Run-Only user?  Click on "Add a run only user" and click on SharePoint.  You'll see what to do from there.  Users will still need at least contribute access to the list.

Re: SharePoint item manula trigger Flow

Hello @ScottShearer,

I am managing each item in list and setting edit permission to such item for a time they have to perform action (add attachment) and then use that manual Flow.

So they are able to see the list, but are not able to see the Flow, until they are assigned as owners. Yes I tried to add user directly as run-only user, but this is not working.

Have you tried adding the SharePoint list (not the user) as a run only user?

Hi @vecerpa , I hope you are well.

I was hoping to clarify, you say:

"

"

Would you consider marking this as a solution or can you provide an update so we can mark this post off with a solution please?

Thanks, Alan
