The response is not in a JSON format

I'm trying to get data from a list, it worked till last week, and suddenly it doesn't work anymore.

@{variables('txtQuerySting')} and (ContactStation/AIRPORTIATA eq '@{body('Join_handlers_3')}')

We have tried to switch the connection however this doesn't help.
I'm actually searching for a way to see what the exact issue is, when the list is called lets say.

HI @mrderekdsl ,

This is likely an error due to the output of the expression

 @{variables('txtQuerySting')} and (ContactStation/AIRPORTIATA eq '@{body('Join_handlers_3')}')

that is being used in the filterQuery.
Recommend checking the value of the expression in the raw-inputs of the GetContacts action

Thanks and Regards,

Dear Vikas @vikulkar ,

Thanks for your quick reply, due to your comment I started comparing two runs (one which succeeded last week and that I just resubmitted which failed). I compared the "show raw inputs" from both runs, Notepad++ found not only 1 difference.

So I guess something in my "get contact list" is corrupt/not picked up by the JSON format.

Do you know maybe how I quickly can see which item is causing the issue?

Thanks,

Derek

Hello,

I had exactly the same error, in a flow having a "GetItems" action with a query filter 7887 characters long, that worked until last week. It's working if I cut the query, until it's 1829 characters. (The query is very simple, a serie of OR conditions in the same field)

I made several tries in different environments but I couldn't figure out the cause....

Do you guys think it can be any change in central cloud environment?

Any luck with this yet? I experienced this issue today. A basic Flow getting a single item from a SharePoint list. The action connection is through our SharePoint administration account. The Flow succeeds when triggered from the Power App by a user that has permission to the list, but fails when triggered by a user who does NOT have access to the list.

This makes no sense...I must be missing something. That's the whole point of using a central account for the connection.

I know - I have not tried the steps below..But will and let you all know how it goes! Something clearly seems to be off here...

Having the same problem here.. support unable to help even with high priority ticket in.. (not cool) anyone else able to help @vikulkar  @MarcusCadena We are having the same issue. It says it's a connection issue, I was able to fix the other flow by selecting the exact same contact but chosing another one available under connections.. Now the flow I see above I can't figure it out nor get help!

I finally had a chance to revisit this today and now the step does not fail. It appears, at least for us, that whatever issue was present is now resolved.

Is your Flow triggered from Power Apps? I have learned that when a Flow is triggered from a Power App it runs in the context of the current app user. It does not run in the context of the connection configured for the action, like for most other triggers.

This was the cause of my "issue" but not sure if that's the case in your situation. I say "issue" since it is working as designed...I just wasn't aware of the design.

@MarcusCadena,

No this flow is triggered by a change in our sharepoint environment.

Derek

hi all,

In my case I do not have the flow triggered by the power app, but from the SPO list itself.

I've reached out to support and after working a few basic steps we were able to get it to work. The support rep was going to report this error message to the engineering team and ensure it get looked at. So not clear yet what cause the error but hopefully was reported.

Here some things we've done..

Changed my connections for all the different steps on the flow - even if your connection has the same name..

Created new flows from scratch

My flow still fails but no longer shows the JSON error message. It fails due to the amount of records that has to go through to find changes. I am exploring Dataverse to host my data versus the SPO list.

Hi guys!

I had the same problem twenty minuts ago, and I just solved it!

In my case, I had a SharePoint list with some items I created with the opportunity to trigger a workflow by clicking on a button (every users can do that). My flow was perfectly executed until I change the advanced settings of my list to allow users to modify only the items they created... Thoughless mistake... That explains why users weren't autorized to make changes on the list !

Hope this use case will help some people...

With regards,

I'm having this issue as well. Long filter query. Anyone else???

The response is not in a JSON format.

I get this error frequently when writing to streaming PBI data set.

I did nothing and it fixes itself.

All I know is it works, then it breaks for a day or two and fixes itself.

I resubmit failed runs and they run successfully after it fixes so nothing wrong with JSON formats.
