User Incorrectly enters a typo on an email address on a form. Flow can't complete because bad address to send to.

Newby here so apologies if this is a simple issue!

I created a form in MS Forms.

It collects the user's email address and a few other email addresses - along with the pertinent information I'm looking to collect.

The user submits the form, and the flow sends out to the email addresses that were entered into the appropriate fields.

If the user incorrectly enters the email addresses (typos, spaces in the address etc...), the flow fails because it can't send the email out.

Is there any way I can either correct the data entered on the form, or otherwise get into the flow and correct it there so that the email will go to the correct email address?

Hi @BruceB1

There is no validation support from Microsoft Forms.

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/education_ms/forum/all/email-validation-microsoft-form/f1ba17e1-...

Check this post regarding Power Automate validation of email address.

I am not sure whether you could automatically resolve this using Microsoft Form or Power Automate.

Thanks

Hi @abm

Any changes to this validation support feature since your reply in Feb 20?

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/email-validation-microsoft-form/f1ba17e1-c452...

I too have users complaining they did not get any error hence were not aware they completed the form incorrectly. Thanks in advance.

Hi @suanz1205

I just checked now and I am afraid there no custom validations or regex validation not available. If you using Microsoft Forms Pro aka Dynamics Customer Voice it supports the email validation.

Thanks

Hi @abm

Thank you for your reply.

Conclusion is:

  • Microsoft Forms - no email validation feature
  • Microsoft Forms Pro - with email validation feature

Am I correct? Thanks again.

Hi @suanz1205

Yes that's correct.

Thanks
