View documentation for a step while creating a flow

When creating a flow I'd like to be able to view documentation for a step (particularly one where validation is failing). Right now is there any better way then opening the "Connectors" link in a new tab then searching?

Re: View documentation for a step while creating a flow

Hi @Woj

Currently the only way you can view documentation for each action step wise is clicking the learn more action on the connector only. Most actions at times are self explanatory with minimal required information being prompted on the action selection itself but detailed documentation can be viewed on the actual docs only.

Hope this Helps!

Re: View documentation for a step while creating a flow

Hi @Woj ,

The method provided by @yashag2255 fits your needs. When we click View operation description, we can view the detailed description of the current action.

This does not include Built-in features, but those actions can get their related functions directly from the name.

@v-bacao-msft I am not seeing the option suggested by @yashag2255 in most of my actions

Hey @Woj

Yes so you will be able to see that once you have authenticated and the action has loaded. (from your other post as you are not authenticated and the action is not loaded yet, you do not see the link)

Hope this Helps!

Re: View documentation for a step while creating a flow

Thanks @yashag2255 . I think feedback to the Power Automate team is that if things are working smoothly I don't need the documentation - I need the documentation when things are erroring out... which is precisely when they are not showing the link currently.

I would think the documentation link should always be available to flow authors where they are working and when they need it.

If you are not logged in or authenticated for a particular connector, as your screenshot shows - that should be the first place that you should begin your troubleshooting. Your Flows cannot run without proper authentication.

It may be worth bookmarking the Power Automate Connector Reference documentation for future use. If you'll notice, from this single page you can access all of the relevant documentation for every Flow Connector available under the Connector Reference navigation menu.

If this is functionality you would like to see added to Power Automate, please consider submitting it to the Flow Ideas page, where it can be voted on by other users, and tracked and commented on by the Power Automate team.

Re: View documentation for a step while creating a flow

Hi @Woj ,

It seems we can't redirect to the corresponding document of the corresponding connector by clicking View operation description now.

Previously, we could click View operation description to view the document, but this function seems to have been removed, which caused us trouble to understand the function of each action.

I recommend that you can submit suggestions in the ideas forum to re-add this feature so that we can directly view the explanation of the corresponding connector:
