Word Online (Business) Connector: Populate a Word template

I have created a flow to capture Form responses into a word document using Populate a Word template and Sharepoint Online Create File.

When this runs the text content control placeholder text is updated not the control text value in the resulting document.

Is there something I am missing in creation of the template .docx or the use of the connector?

If you could provide an expanded screenshot of your Flow and steps, your Flow run history, and of any detailed error messages you're receiving we could likely better assist you. Also, for the best results, you may want to review How to write a good forum post.

Re: Word Online (Business) Connector: Populate a Word template

Thanks for responding: Here are the details based on a simple flow combined with a form.

Formtest_form.png This captures the text input.

The flow processes the Form response to populate the plain text control on a docx template with the text from the form

test_flow.png

The template docx has a plain text control named FormDataInput the result of the flow saves the updated document...

The control value has not been changed. The Word Online: Populate a Word Template connector has changed the placeholder text "Click or tap here to enter text" to the text I input into the form "Text for Word Document"

I expected the value of the plain text control to change - as would happen if a user inputs text to the control directly.

How can I update the value of the plain text control in the template rather than the placeholder text?

Re: Word Online (Business) Connector: Populate a Word template

Hi @Candlefat

I have shown a sample of working with content and repeating content for word templates here: https://www.bythedevs.com/post/how-to-populate-a-word-template-with-repeating-control

Hope this Helps!

Re: Word Online (Business) Connector: Populate a Word template

Hi yashag2255,

your example has not helped.

The problem is the text that the connector updates in the plain text control. The connector updates the placeholder text (e.g. Please enter content here.) not the value text of the control.

Thanks for your response
