Hi- I’m trying to create a Flow that is triggered from Teams (specifically use a trigger message to create an event invite) and saw the "For a selected trigger" option. I was able to create an adaptive card that would allow someone to fill it out. This would then create the event invite based on this input.
The only problem is- I can’t figure out how to actually trigger this Flow. How do I get the adaptive card posted in the first place? I can’t find any documentation for it and it looks like this feature might still be in development:
I would appreciate any insights- thanks in advance!
Hi @tessaw You can use "When a new channel message is added(Preview)" trigger when creating Power Automate and use "post your own adaptive card as the flow bot to a channel (Preview)" action to post your Adaptive Card. Add your Adaptive card JSON to message field.
Thanks @DeepakS! And how do I trigger that adaptive card action then? Is there a way to do that from Teams? I see that there's a way to trigger flows manually by tagging the Flow bot + Flow name, but I can't find that corresponding trigger in the Flow creator. Do I need to have a scheduled Flow for that to work? The only other manual option I can think of is the Flow buttons- but is there a way to surface them from Teams?
Hi @tessaw , You have two option of triggering Power Automate from Teams (As of today)
- When a new channel message is addedMicrosoft Teams
-When I am mentioned in a channel messageMicrosoft Teams
After Power Automate Trigger you can Post your adaptive card on Teams channel or User Chat.
