"When an upcoming event is starting soon" trigger isn't working for instances of a recurring event

I've created a flow that uses the O365 Calendar trigger "When an upcoming event is starting soon" to send an email.  It works fine for a one time event that I created to test it.  However, it doesn't work for individual instances of a recurring event, which unfortunately make up 80% of my meeting invitations.

Is this a bug, or is there something I need to do to get the trigger to recognize a recurrance as a discreet event?

Thanks

-John

Hi @JohnV,

I have made a test on my side and don't have the issue that you mentioned. My flow's configuration as below:29.JPG

Note: The Recurrence meeting event created in my Outlook calendar as below:31.JPG

The flow works successfully as below:30.JPG

Please check if you have specified proper Calendar within Calendar Id field of the "When an upcoming event is starting soon" trigger. In addition, please check if you have filled proper value within Lock-Ahead Time field of the trigger.

Best regards,

Kris

Hi Kris,

Thanks a lot for taking a look at this.  My calendar setting is fine, as it works as it should for single events.  However, it doesn't pick up recurrences.  My setup looks exactly the same as yours, except I have my look ahead time set to 5 minutes.

In looking at your example, the calendar event you created to test this seems to be the 1st instance of the recurrence.  If you try it with an ongoing recurring event, does it work for you?  In other words, does the email get sent for the 2nd or subseqent

repetition of the recurring event?

Also, I reviewed the run history, and there are no error messages being generated.  Single events run fine and show up in the log.  Recurring events do not show up in my log at all, indicatng that they aren't triggering the flow.

Thanks

I've got the same problem. I works fine withe the first of any recurring event, but not for the 2nd or subseqent

repetition of the recurring event.
Is there any news or workarounds?

Same issue, works for one-time meetings and the first time a recurring event happens, but not afterwards.

No errors but also no log that the flow even ran.

I haven't, but it's a good idea I will report it.

First wanted to make sure the problem is not between the keyboard and the chair 😉
